Weak algebra under the surface
Factorising, rearranging and working with indices underpin every later topic. We drill them early so they don’t slow students down later.
Year 11 · Units 1 & 2
Year 11 Methods is where the foundations for Year 12 are laid. We make sure there are no gaps to carry forward.
First week free, per subject. No payment details needed.

How we teach it
Methods 1/2 is a big step up from Year 10. Algebra becomes the language of every topic, and a gap in Term 1 shows up again in calculus in Term 3 — and again in Year 12. Our classes are designed to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Each week is a two-hour lesson class of up to eight students working through our own booklet, which follows the VCAA study design topic by topic. The tutor explains the idea, works examples, then watches students attempt questions and corrects working on the spot. Homework booklets come with full worked solutions, and students can book one-on-one help desks or message their tutor between classes.
We also build the habits Year 12 depends on: setting out working clearly, using the CAS calculator properly without relying on it, and practising under timed conditions before every school SAC and exam. Students who finish Year 11 fluent in functions and the basics of calculus start Units 3/4 with a real head start.

Section A
Factorising, rearranging and working with indices underpin every later topic. We drill them early so they don’t slow students down later.
We teach one method for transformations that works for every function family, so new graphs aren’t new problems.
Students who coast through Units 1/2 spend Year 12 catching up. Regular checks and practice SACs keep effort steady from Term 1.
Section B
Tests, application tasks and investigations set by your school across Units 1 and 2.
Most schools run a mid-year and an end-of-year exam, often split into calculator-free and CAS sections like Year 12.
Functions and graphs questions with worked solutions — the foundations Year 12 builds on.

FAQ
$80 a week for a 2-hour small-group class (about $40 per hour of class), including booklets, homework, help desks and messaging support. Your first week is free.
Up to 8. That's small enough for the tutor to check every student's working in every lesson.
Methods is a prerequisite for many university courses in science, engineering, commerce and health. If your child is unsure, we can talk it through on the call after you book the free week.
Often, yes, if gaps are fixed early. The free week shows both of you whether the pace suits.
We aim to teach each topic before or alongside most schools, so class time at school becomes revision rather than first exposure.
