Fraction and negative-number errors
Small arithmetic slips cause big algebra problems. We fix them first.
Year 9 · Pre-VCE
Year 9 is the best time to fix gaps — before they turn into problems in VCE.

How we teach it
In Year 9, maths moves from numbers to algebra. Students who get comfortable with that shift now find Year 10 and VCE far easier. Students who don’t often lose confidence early.
Classes run weekly for two hours, with up to eight students. A short pre-assessment shows the tutor where each student is, and the lesson booklet follows the school year. The tutor explains, works examples and checks every student’s working during the lesson. Homework is marked, and students can book free help desks for extra support.
Small classes mean quieter students ask questions too — which is often the biggest change parents notice.
