Leaning on CAS for everything
Exam 1 is a calculator-free paper worth 20% of the study score. We set calculator-free practice every week so algebra, exact values and calculus rules become automatic.
Year 12 · Units 3 & 4
Weekly small-group Methods classes that stay a step ahead of school, with SAC and exam practice built in from the first week.
First week free, per subject. No payment details needed.

How we teach it
Methods 3/4 rewards students who understand why a technique works, not just which button to press. Each week starts with a two-hour lesson class of up to eight students, built around our own booklet that follows the current VCAA study design in order. The tutor teaches the idea, works examples on the board, then has students attempt questions while they check working at each desk. Mistakes get caught in the room, not on the SAC.
We split practice into two kinds. "No CAS" questions build the algebra and calculus fluency Exam 1 demands, where there is no calculator and every line of working is marked. CAS questions train students to set up a problem properly, choose the right CAS command and then interpret the output — the habits Exam 2 rewards. Students who only ever practise with the calculator are the ones who freeze in Exam 1.
Between classes, every student gets a homework booklet with full worked solutions, bookable one-on-one help desks and the ability to message their tutor when they get stuck. Before each SAC we run a practice SAC in exam conditions and mark it, so students know exactly what to fix with time to fix it.
From Term 3, the focus shifts to exam preparation: full past and trial papers, marked with feedback, and revision of every area of study from the start of the year. Our tutors scored raw 44–50 in Methods within the last few years, so they know where the marks are lost because they were in the exam room recently.

Term-by-term plan

Section A
Exam 1 is a calculator-free paper worth 20% of the study score. We set calculator-free practice every week so algebra, exact values and calculus rules become automatic.
Many marks in Methods are method marks. We teach students to write the one or two lines that earn them, and mark homework the way VCAA assessors do.
Probability and statistics sit at the end of the course but take up a large share of Exam 2. We revisit them early and often so they are not new in October.
Section B
Application and problem-solving tasks set by your school across Units 3 and 4 (40% of the study score).
One hour, no calculator, short-answer questions (20%).
Two hours, CAS allowed, multiple choice plus extended response (40%).
10 Exam 1-style questions with full worked solutions, from our Methods booklets.

FAQ
$80 a week for a 2-hour lesson class plus a 2-hour application class — 4 hours of class, about $20 an hour — including booklets, homework, help desks and messaging support. Your first week is free.
Up to 8. That's small enough for the tutor to check every student's working in every lesson.
No. We place new students into a class that matches where their school is, give them the booklets for topics they have missed, and use help desks to fill specific gaps.
Yes. Every booklet includes CAS instructions for the TI-Nspire and ClassPad, and we teach when not to use it, which matters just as much for Exam 2.
Year 12 students also get a weekly 2-hour application class, included in the price, that works through hard and separator-level questions — the ones that decide the top study scores.
